Study On The Economic And Trade Relationship Between Hong Kong And The Mainland

There is a long history economy relationship between Hong Kong and the mainland. With the development of the mainland's economy, the return of HK and the carrying out of CEPA, the economy relationship has been a focus of attention in many fields. The article studied the situation of the relationship in the view of both space and time.The economical intercourse between the two areas had been dominated by the trade more than 100 years before 1970's. In 1978, the opening policy in mainland became the roll booster of the economy relationship between the two areas. HK acted as the bridge between the mainland and the world, while the mainland helped Hong Kong changed its economy structure. Both the trade and the investment made rapid progress in quantity as well as in quality. In the new century, HK's bridge role was wakened by the mainland's entry to WTO and the accelerated opening, while the mainland's importance to HK was strengthened. Now the CEPA helps the relationship transform from the mainland depending on HK to both sides depending on each other and both-win form based on the integration of the market.In the mainland, the relationship between each region and HK is pretty different from others, and at all the times the Zhujiang delta has the sincerely relationship with Hong Kong. But now it faces the challenge from Yangtze delta. The barycenter of the trade reciprocation between the two areas appeared the tendency of moving to North, which means the regional difference began to alleviate. Hierachical cluster analysis indicated that the regional difference in the relationship with Hong Kong is just like the difference in the regional economy, and with the grades arrangement from high to low horizontally along the direction of South to North in littoral areas which accompanied the character of point-axis layout. The carrying out of CEPA encourages the regional economy development and integration, which makes the removing of the relationship barycenter more confusing.Promoting the cooperation between HK and the reaching the economic prosperity is an arduous task. The countermeasures to the questions appearing in the cooperation and advice on the cooperation way is proposed with the emphasis on the governments' service.
