A political crisis broke out in Thailand at the beginning of 2006 and continued to this day. On September, the Thailand military started a coup d'etat after an interval of 15years. And the political democratization process came into a crisis again. The political crisis is the result of the problems which had troubled Thailand for nearly 80 years during the process of democratic development. There are two causes for this problem. The first one is the imperfection of Thailand's Constitutional system, another one is the authoritarian democracy influenced by deep-rooted traditional culture of Thailand. The essay reviewed the democratization process after the establishment of Thailand's constitutional monarchy in 1932 and an analyzed of the main factors and problems influenced the democratization process. The aim is to make some notice of the development of democracy and political reform for the Southeast Asian countries which have similar cultural background and level of democratic development and the developing countries including China.
