Nowadays aging of population is a serious problem that is faced to Jilin Province, according to the statistical yearbook, the person over 60 have already achieved 3 million and 62 thousand until 2009. it is account for 13.4%.There is a high growth of elderly people in the few years, the aging of population is a big threaten for us. At present, the establish of pension institutions incomplete so that can not guarantee the general care for elderly person, hence, it is necessary to strengthen the level of pension institutions consummately and ensure the quality of life for elderly person.The traditional mode of pension is home-based care. but in recent years, some person who with the open mind have changed to live in pension institution in their late life. it is more vital for us than ever before. at present,pension institutions are short of scale of construction, services, facilities and so on, they are can not satisfied the requirement of the elderly person. This paper suppose to analyze the current situation of pension institutions, summarize the problems, in order to promote the improvement.The first part of paper has elaborate the background, purport and relevant theory about this paper systematically.The second part has three sections, the first has introduced the current situation of aging population in Jilin Province, according to analyze the number of elder person about 17 years, conclude the characteristic of elder person. On the basis of statistical yearbook 2008.the second section is the comparative analysis, this section has obtained the standard of aging in our city. The last section has used a software which named PEOPLE to forecast the number of elderly person in the next 50 years.The third part is the analysis of requirement about pension institutions, this chapter is based on a investigation which is held by government in Jilin Province, combines with the age mode to forecast the demand of bed and technicians in all the institutions in the next 50 years, prepare for the next chapter at the same time.The fourth part is the analysis of supply. At first, illustrate the quantity of the pension institutions that Jilin province has supplied. secondly, provide information about support policies, capital investment, and the condition of institutions establishment. Finally, conclude the problems by compare the demand with the supply above.The fifth part is the experience of other countries, this chapter has listed experiences from Japan and United States, combine with this useful experiences. The earliest country come into aging of population is Japan in Asia. It has a plenty of useful experience for us to improve our facilities. The United States is a developing country, also has the significant experience for us.Finally, according to the past five chapters.three suggestions are brought up. There are three suggestions for Jilin province to improve the level of pension institutions. One is enhancing the supportive of government and encourage the social forces to set up more institutions for the elderly person. Another is improve the environment of the pension institutions. At the same time, increase more kinds of entertainment facilities to enrich the spare time of elder person.
