Xinjiang has been an inalienable part of China, but why the modern Xinxiang emerges separatism, it is mainly due to the Westerners'invasion of China, and the Chinese government unable to cope with border crisis. Nevertheless, not any Chinese government admits Xinjiang independence in history, and Xinjiang was and is under-controlled by Chinese government. However, "the Turks Doctrine", "the Islamic Doctrine" and "terrorism" emerges in Xinjiang against the background of globalization of contemporary economic and political era; at the same time, the continuous ethnic splitting consciousness is also growing. Meanwhile, some countries and groups began to use this separatism to contain and differentiate China, hinder the process of China's peaceful development.Entering the 21st century, it is growing of China's influence in economy and politics, and China devote to keep good relationships with the rest of the world, with other factors, the United States, Europe and other countries change their attitudes to Xinjiang independence, but they also adopt different strategies. However, the Xinjiang independence groups are also constantly changing, and their means are becoming more and more covert and cunning, to cope with these new situations, the Chinese government needs to adjust the relative measures and strategies. In this thesis, it uses the research method of the Analytical Hierarchy Process beside the traditional one, analyzing from the three main hierarchical, great patterns of Sino-American development, the American national government and the American public and media's influence and role on the development of Xinjiang independence group. It focuses on the American factor in the process of Xinjiang independence. Meanwhile, combining with the development of China's foreign policy and national strategy, the thesis gives some useful suggestions on this issue.
