With the deepening of the modern rule of the law, our civil procedure system tends to strengthen the rights of the parties and weaken the court authority, it means to respect the party's subject position and disposition. The parties'statements have become a case we have to pay more attention and to solve seriously. The parties exercise their rights in suit by certain civil behavior, as one kind of civil action, the parties'statements play an important role in dealing with the relationship between the parties and the court. So it is meaningful to research the system. There are two kinds of statements in the civil procedure, one is evidentiary material based on certain procedure in the court, the other is factual claims in the suit, which can't play the role of evidence. Different kinds of statements have different functions. In order to solve the problems in legislation and practice in our country, this article try to clarify the statements from the angle of multiple functions Of the parties'statements. Finally the article put forward some specific suggestions and supporting measures to improve the system in our country.
