Despite thedevelopments, however, there are still a number of problems in the process of women's politicalparticipation, For example, the situation of discrimination and exclusion have not yet completelychanged. This thesis describes the current situation of Chinese women's participation in politicsand propose practical countermeasures, through the analysis of status quo of our women'sparticipation in politics, With the expectation to make some contributions to increaseopportunities for women's participation in politics, to promote the development of women, andto enhance the advancement of the society and the establishment of harmonious society, andeventually realize the real equality between men and women.The structure of this paper consists of six chapters: the first chapter which serves as anintroduction to the thesis, mainly introduces the background and the significance of selecting thetopic, the research methods, the scientific definition of the concept"women's politicalparticipation"and the Current situation of research on this topic both at home and abroad.Chapter 2 mainly introduces the relevant theories of women's participation in politics, and thenreviews the practices of women's political participation since the establishment of PRC bydividing this development process into three stages; The third chapter analyses the presentsituation and defects of Chinese women's political participation. Finally, in accordance with theanalysis of chapter 3, the forth,fifth and sixth, the author proposes recommendations andmeasures, including the establishment of useful systems to promote women's participation inpolitics, modifing and improving laws and regulations and other related policies, and enhancing the organization's security on women's groups,etc.
