The united front policy is one of the most important ideological treasures for the Party to achieve final victory in Chinese revolution and the modernization of her socialist construction. In revolutionary period, The party, adopting Marx's and Lenin's united front theory, succeeded in formulating the fundamental strategy of " Based on workers' and farmer' movement, seeking a friendly cooperation between Kuomintang and Communist party and adopting civil revolution as the major approach " which is the nucleus of the Party's united front policy at the time. The appropriate implication of and the deviation from the fundamental strategy is the most important reason for the arising, prosperity and failure of the revolution. Backed by the analysis of success and failure of the Party's united front in revolutionary period, the essay aims at exploring the value of it, i.e. we must insist on the principle of safeguard the absolute power of the nation and the country, attach great importance to seek proper cooperation means, regulate the policy when there is any deviation and make painstaking efforts to protect the rights of the cooperation partners.The essay consists of four parts, i.e. the theoretical origin and background of the Party's united front policy in revolutionary period, the formation, development and content of the Party's united front policy, the success and failure and experiences and lessons we can get from it in modern time.
