| People's mediation system is a legal system of our country that has Chinese characteristic in solving nongovernmental dispute, and it is the confucianist cultural outcome "with suit". It is worthy homeland resource in modern process of our legal system, belonging to ADR, that is, a kind of dispute solution mechanism. People's mediation is playing important role in alleviating the pressure of lawsuit mechanism and deploying reasonably the aspects such as dispute solution resource. It is the limitation in the nature and legal status of people's mediation system and the nature and the legal effect of people's mediation agreement directly influence the developing prospect of the system. The key point of perfecting people's mediation system in a multi-society is to build multi-dispute resolution mechanism in the aspects of concept and system, enact "people's mediation law', further make clear the nature and legal status of people's mediation system, make people's mediation agreement obtain execution power through the check and approval of people's court, scientifically set the business scale of people's mediation, and perfect the construction of people's mediation organization.
