It is the consumer credit that connects the manufacture, retail trade, banking, insurance and securities together, which has a long history in developed country. The experiences of developed country suggest that it can not only enhance the living standard of people, but also propel the growth of national economies. The modern consumer credit of China sprung up in 1980s', and increased rapidly in nineties'. But there are still some problems in both consumer credit market and the personal credit system, which we should take measures to settle. The first chapter summarizes the feature, history and theories of consumer credit. It's the consumer credit that provided to the consumers by financial institutions, such as commercial banks, financial companies, credit unions, and retailers. People can purchase merchandise and service with the loans when they are deficient in financing. Consumer credit is also a type of distribution mode. Modern consumer credit derives from the overdraft of check in Europe several centuries ago, and then grows into the modern consumer credit today. Fisher analyzed the demand of consumer credit when he studied with the preference consumption between present and aftertime. According with the "Assumption of life cycle"and "Assumption of income"of Economies, which construe the relationship between demand and income, we would draw a conclusion that the consumers demand for advances in order that they can keep the normal consumption level when there's a short-term consumer credit; credit rating; credit bureau...
