Appraisement And Study On The Urban Competitiveness Of Four Central Cities In The Northeast Of China

With the global economy internationalization and information, urbanization has reached the rapid developed stage. City plays a critical role among the region, the competitiveness between the city will be strengthened. Think highly and improve urban competitiveness is critical step to promote urbanization. Human has entered the era of the economy, science and technology, and global competitiveness since 1990's. The competitiveness of the globalization means not only the internationalization of competitive range, the comprehensiveness of competitive field, the intense of competitive extent, but also the diversity of competitive main body and the complexity of competitive method. Facing with the acutely competitive society, every kind of organizations must participate in competitiveness besides region, city, and person and so on. Otherwise, since the urban system comes into being, every city must think highly of its own competitiveness. Urban competitiveness has been studied in 1980's and the behalf is professor Porter of Harvard business school. Professor Porter is an expert on the international competitiveness and has set forth that city and region is more fitting as basic unit of competitive advantage analysis in 1980's. Later IMD has contributed to the research on international competitiveness. So 'Diamond Model'of Porter and Country Competitiveness Model are the basic theory when we study the base of Urban Competitiveness. Although the research of Urban Competitiveness is base on the international competitiveness, the emphasis of international competitiveness is different in different phase, firstly focused on military competitiveness and then focused on economy because of industrial revolution. Enterprise competitiveness is critical among the economy competitiveness, product competitiveness is critical among the enterprise competitiveness. So compare cost theory absolute cost theory and so on are also the base of the Urban Competitiveness. We can know the developed process of Urban Competitiveness through running after the origin of Urban Competitiveness. In order to comprehend the definition and the difference between Urban Competitiveness and real strength, the article is gradually analyzed from city, urban economy and real strength of Urban Competitiveness. In order to analyze the Urban Competitiveness of four cities, we must know the advantage and present condition of four cities. In chapter four we set up the evaluation model and index system through introducing the natural condition and analyzing the influence factors. We adapt the method of PRINCOMP and FACTOR analysis. Thus we can get the order of four cities, the tendency of every city during five years and explain the main factor. We can know that Shenyang cannot make use of its own location advantage ; Dalian is short of high population quality, science standard and so on although its order is good among the four cities; Changchun and Harbin have more questions, such as the lower technology content of product, the lower of location advantage, the drop-out of talent and so on.
