Sino-Iranian Co-operation For Developing Iranian Petroleum And Natural Gas Resources

The twenty-first century is the critical phase for China's development. However, great challenges have appeared in both China's environment and safety in terms of energy resources. Iran, as one of the biggest petroleum and natural gas supplier countries in the Middle-east as well as in the whole world, has great exploitive potentials in its petroleum and natural gas. Sino-Iranian co-operation for developing Iranian petroleum and natural gas resources is therefore helpful for China to reduce the pressures from the energy problem and to realize the national interests in Iran and the Middle-east. It is thus of great theoretical and practical significance to carry out researches upon Sino-Iranian relations, especially Sino-Iranian co-operation for developing Iran's petroleum and natural gas resources.This dissertation falls into four parts as follows:Part One consists of an account of Iran's petroleum and natural gas resources exploitation in the Pahlavi Dynasty, Khomeini times and the present Khamenei times and a prospective study of Iran's potential to develop its petroleum and natural gas resources.Based on an analysis upon the necessity of Sino-Iranian co-operation for developing Iran's petroleum and natural gas resources in terms of energy safety, economic development and geopolitical condition on the part of both China and Iran, Part Two is mainly a feasibility study of Sino-Iranian co-operation for developing Iran's petroleum and natural gas resources in four respects, viz., foreign policy, external economic development, the reciprocity of natural resources and market resources of different countries.Part Three studies the history, the running mechanism of Sino-Iranian co-operation for developing Iran's petroleum and natural gas resources before and during the period when...
