On The Development Of Industrial Cluster And The Function Of Local Government

Industrial cluster in the local economy whether for its total volume, or employment number provided, all and already occupied the bigger proportion. In the coastal areas, especially in Zhejiang province, with the development of past 20 years or more, its industrial cluster characterized by local economy has played a great role in promoting the development of local economy, which has caused the local government to attach its importance, and also caused the widespread concern of the economic academic circles. Study on industrial cluster has become one of the popular topics in economics research. But everyone pays most of his attention to the function and mechanism of industrial cluster, or its terms and features .As to the local government's function in industrial cluster and how to bring this function into full play have been less touched and studied.Some local governments are usually not aware of or know a little about industrial cluster's mechanisms, some even have pursued developing areas without properly planning. Since the classification for cluster is usually different from that of traditional industry and without a clear definition, it is not easy to be recognized. Therefore, the present paper tries to seek for the industrial cluster developing in Zhejiang and the function of local government from the view of the theories in industrial cluster and government management in the economics of public management, combined with the Zhejiang prosper for lump economy(industrial cluster), and put forward some countermeasures and suggestions for the local government how to play a part in the development of industrial cluster.
