This paper referred to the study objects of our country land transfer mechanism, applies Sustainable Development theory and Coase theorem, at wide view points, to explore the necessity of land transfer. Then through analysis of current land transfer mechanism, the paper reveals the problem and major obstacle of urbanization processing, and further explores a feasible way to establish a new land transfer mechanism. The feasible way is: land supply must follow the same market under the precondition of protecting cultivated land and accelerating society Sustainable Development; transfer of land component should follow market economy law; The right of principal party of land transfer is equal and transfer should be conducted based on an open, fair, and just way; Government may macro-control land market while itself should not involve into land transfer as a principal party.This paper includes five chapters. Chapter I is introduction that elaborates the objective and significance for the study of land transfer mechanism during urbanization processing. Chapter II introduces urbanization and land transfer mechanism and emphasizing on analyzing character of our country current urbanization and its requirement for land transfer and the relationship between them. Chapter III outlines the theory of land transfer mechanism. This paper discusses the fundamental requirement for establishing a new land transfer mechanism. Chapter IV analyzes the present situation of land transfer during urbanization processing, reveals the problems and major shortcoming of current land transfer mechanism, and evaluates the efficiencies on social, economy, and environment. Chapter V investigates establishment of a new land transfer mechanism.
