Research On Stress Of Public Servants And The Relationships Between Stress And Mental Health

Stress of public servants has been neglected for a long time, because of steady work environment and high social class. With the development of society and the change of government function, public servant must improve themselves constantly , at the same time ,they have more and more stress. Now, most research on stress of public servants is still qualitative analysis, but empirical research is lacking.The purpose of research is to investigate the internal structure of public servants' stress, the distinction of different servants, as well as the relation between stressor and mental heath. For these purpose, the relevant data are collected by open questionnaires and research from relevant references. Some standard analysis method, such as exploratory analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, and correlation analysis are employed. In the end, some suggestion are put forward to decrease the stress of public servants.The conclusions drawn by this research are as follows:First, job stressor of public servant is composed of 5 factor: "housing problem", "social support", "job load", "occupation development", "child problem", "family income", "human dissension", "social environment" and "personal life".Second, a lot of public servants have various stress. The variable in population statistics can affect stress: (1) The stress of male servants is higher than that of female. (2) The stress of different-age public servants is notably different in " child problem" and "personal life". The ones who aged 41-50 have big stress in "child problem", and those who aged 50-60 have suffered from "personal life". (3) The stress of different-length of service public servants is notably different in "occupation development". Those who have work for 4-8 years have strongest stress. (4) The stress of married public servants is comparatively big in "job load". Third, stress grade of public servants is related to the mental heath. Different stressor factors influence different mental heath level: (1) "Personal life", "social support" and "job load" can predict mental heath level of "body-mind symptom". (2) "Social support" can predict mental heath level of "anxiety". (3) "Job load", "human dissension" and "social environment" can predict mental heath level of "blues"...
