Eighty years ago, Mao Zedong wrote a famous article entitled Ah Analysis of Social Classes in China, in which he revealed the economic status, political attitude of different classes and their relationship by means of class analysis, hence providing scientifically theoretical basis for the. strategies and tactics of neo-democratic revolution. Today, China has embarked on a new road to build a moderately well off society in an all-round way and to accelerate the socialist modernization. Non-public ownership economy represented by private economy is growing and has become an important part of socialist market economy and the main force to promote the development of social productivity. In this course of society transfer, system transition, the former interest pattern has been broken, and a new one is forming. Economic components, organization and interest distribution and mode of employment in the society tend to be pluralistic, the most obvious of which is that "the structure of social classes in our country is undergoing a change with the appearance of a new social class constituting the pioneers and technicians in private science-and-technology enterprises, self-employed people, employers of private enterprises, intermediary agents and professionals". The appearance of the new social class is not only a natural result of the social productivity in our country, but also an expression of the attempt of the Communist Party of China to keep pace with the times concerning developing non-public ownership. Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Party has made a series of adjustments and reformations on policies concerning different non-public ownership economic forms in view of the conditions of social productivity in China, establishing their status in developing socialist economy and greatly motivating their involvement in politics. Meanwhile, the reform and opening-up and the construction of democratic politics in the late two decades provide favorable political, economic, cultural and moral background for the new social class's participation in politics in all dimensions. However, due to some historical andcurrent factors, their participation in politics is not in complete agreement with the democratic politics in our country and thus poses a new challenge and trial for the Party's effort to strengthen its own governing capacity under the new circumstances. Based on a detailed analysis of the current situation, features, social attributes and basis of the new class's participation in politics, this thesis proposes that the new social class's participation in politics results from the interaction of multiple factors. And overall, its effect is positive. Therefore, building a long-term effect mechanism for the new class's participation in politics is not only a natural reaction of the ruling party to its current situation and features and a necessity for the Party to strengthen its governing capacity and reinforce its ruling legitimacy as well. It contributes to the fast and healthy development of the non-public ownership economy, to social stability and the development of the democratic politics and to the construction of a harmonious socialist society in China.
