The legislative language is a special carrier which the legislators express their views, purposes and policies. The law or rule is successful and scientific or not concerns that the conditions are mature or not, the thoughts and the knowledge of the legislators and the deepness of understanding to social relationships which is adjusted by law directly. But it is no doubt to concern the linguistic level of the legislator. So, the task is an important content in law, linguistics and so on.There are so many laws in our country. On the one hand, there are many literatures in synthetically analyzing legislative language, but there are few works in analyzing obturated syntax for the law. On the other hand, The marriage law owns its individuality, it can embodiment the characteristics in the syntax of the legislative language. It has 51 rules, it's suit for the syntax research. The marriage law closes to the normal life, in 2001, it was fixed, during course of discussing, it arose the vivid attention and fury discuss till now. We chose The marriage law as the research object. We can study its sentences and hope we'll have a fine result. This paper has four parts. In part one, begin with why I choose this topic and its meaning, I expatiated the theories of the research, the value of the practice and the study circumstance in our country now, I alsointroduced the main ways and research methods of the article. The part two is mainly about the sentences in The Marriage Law. In this part, I analyzed the subject-predicate sentences and the non subject-predicate sentences and its expression effects in the single sentences. The lawful action is mainly expressed by verb subject-predicate sentences and non subject-predicate sentences. I also analyzed the compound sentences in it, including apposite compound, hypothesis compound and transition compound. In part three, I studied the special mode of sentences in The Marriage Law. I mainly analyzed the "of phrase, the "be" sentences. They usually used the apposite structure, restrictive attribute and compound parity components. The part four is about the sentence selection in The Marriage Law. In my view, the short sentences are used less, and they are only opposite to the long sentences in the legislative language. The legislative language usually defines the compound relationship in the law, there are same components and different ones in the relationship. It often appeals the sentences which they conclude all the conditions at first, then they expatiate part by part. To emphasize some certain parts, the order of the language has changed or some words has omitted, the main body omitted or the main body concealed. In The Marriage Law, only used the declaratives and imperatives, not used the interrogatives and exclamatory sentences.
