Take a wide view on the history of ancient China, the contractual relation is always tied up. Under the yoke of various factors, it can not get a freedom to develop. The contract have never occupied predominance position in the social activities of ancient China because the restriction of the closed agriculture economy. In contrast, contract must be subordinate to the authoritarian regime interests and household interests. Individual interests is seriously neglected. At present, the research on Chinese ancient times of contractual system in educational circles has many deferent ways, such as studying it as the whole, carrying on a research in a way of dividing the history into periods. There are few books which study the Chinese ancient contract system in a vertical way, and also few books which study some concrete contracts. In order to make a breakthrough on the method and object of research on the contract of sale, the text analyzes the contract of sale in deferent period of ancient China, trying to reveal the value of the contract of sale by comparing vertically and analyzing substantial evidence.On the way of pushing forward reforms of economic system of the socialism, to establish new and adaptable contract system in market economy, not only drawing lessons from foreign developed countries is needed, but also we need to know and understand the history of nation contract development. We should combine the new contract system with the customary foundation of contract in our nation, let it become a new motive which pushes economic and social development forward.
