China has become the country with the largest elderly populations in the world. As the aging problems become increasingly serious, the investment of large pension fund has become an important social and economic issue. In order to benefit the workers, it is necessary to introduce special requirements in the fund operation, for safety, profitability and persistency. To ensure the safe operation of pension fund and the stability of society, it should be careful to choose the strategy. Many foreign countries use trust to regulate the management of pension fund. The pension insurance system is divided into three levels in China. They combine with trust and form their own characteristics, so they have different requirements for investment. Trust is still a new thing in China, and so is pension fund trust. It is really a major problem to make a successful combination of these two.This article is composed with four parts: chapter 1 briefly describes the basic principles of the trust, such as the definition, characteristics and function. Chapter 2 introduces the necessity that pension fund take trust as a way to gain profit. Because the first level basic pensions insurance and the second level supplementary pensions have different characteristics, thispart focuses on the second level--occupational pension trust. Chapter 3introduces the practice of the relevant system in England, American and Hong Kong , the author hopes that it can make contribution to the building of China's relevant system; Chapter 4 analyzes the problems in China's theory and practice of pension trust. Because the individual accounts in basic pension can combine with occupational pension, this part focuses on the legal issues in occupational pension trust, and the author hopes to explore theoretical and practical solutions for china's pension fund.
