Freedom has always been discussed in the field of philosophy as both an old and a new problem. The understanding of freedom could be very different, even diametrically opposite, in different periods and among different schools. Freedom, as a major theme to study, is of benefit in our handling and solving the problems encountered in the evolution of human society.The knowledge of freedom varies with the development of the society and transfers the focus at the same time with the change of mainstream and social progress. Meanwhile, a profound understanding of the freedom reflects the changes in the history of human society and the constant variety in social structure. The establishment of the new research and interrelated theories (system theory, cybernetics, information theory, dissipative structure, Self-organization, synergetics, etc.) which take system theory as mainstream, is the revelation of complex phenomenon, such as nature, society, and the field of thought. Our discussion on freedom spreads from individual system and social system which are based with individual freedom and whole human freedom. Taking freedom as the attachment of the freedom in system theory has profound significant for us to reveal the relationships among social system, ecosystem, natural system and cosmic system.â… .The definition about individual freedom and human freedom in system theoryThe basic characters of Open system are interactive relationship with the external environment. The drive of the systemic evolution comes from the dissipative structure of self-organization. The process of systemic evolution is an evolutionary process, which is through the equilibrium state, coherent with the external environment and through the nonlinear dynamics of the system to achieve a balanced and orderly system from disorderly trends of the evolutionary process. In such process, the systemic evolution of the "pre-decision" tends to a more complex, multi-tier system diversification. The subsystem or the elements within the system are interdependent. In the interactive multi-level infiltration process, it forms a systemic evolution of"meta evolution"which is broken-symmetry combined time and space together and made the system"orderly fluctuation".Human beings, as an organism part of the life, exist as an opening autopoiesis system. It is the individual system along with human beings'common material and spiritual evolution. The individual freedom derives and develops from the individual system of human beings, and it tends to the alternating process with the social system from its form and contents.The social system is formed by the various creative way and life way of humans. It is a complex opening system focusing on human's existence and development and. It is also a complex system which realizes human's freedom as the core the content. Human freedom develops itself in the interaction of human and nature with an opening state through social system. It naturally becomes a systematical structure of human request in fulfilling the relationship between human and nature, human and ecology, and human beings among themselves.Human exist and develop as an autopoiesis and self-organization system. Originally, the material, energy and information of external environment that human get is a kind of self taking and getting, which can not distinguish from their biological significance. As the organizational form of individual system, social system sill get materials, energy and information from the external environment of their own, thus to form self-organizational evolution process dominated by human rather than the organization that formed by other ecosystems and non-human's systems. Humans'individual freedom is realized by the mutual process between the individual system and social system, so is the development of human freedom. In the modality communistic society that Carl Marx created for us, it is possible to have the individual freedom and the human freedom achieved.
