Litigation is a traditional and an important way to resolve dispute in the past time, but it appears negative effects when people know it in-depth. For example, it is simplification, the procedure is complicated, the time spent on it is long, it needs much of money, it can not resolve dispute thoroughly and it would wields justice visualize if we pay more attention on and so on. Modernistic dispute is pluralistic, which needs pluralistic ways to resolve. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is basilica as a way among that and people pay more attention on it, especially in nowadays that harmonious society has been advanced.Folk-mediation is a kind of ADR, which has its own engender, development and has its own origin of history and culture. Folk-mediation is traditional in China, it makes an important role in history and of course it becomes preferable to litigation. Its role is being known more and more: it holds together connection among country people, it accords with privity and contemplation of people, it satisfies people who urgently want to have an harmonious society and a jarless order. Also, it needs little time to spent on, relaxes antinomy confronters, reduces press on litigation, sticks up for basic worth of society and promotes to get a harmonious society, all of above are important. Though it is perfect, its function has not been exerted in nowadays especially in village where exists a trend that beating the folk-mediation and people resolve dispute among themselves have been seen utterly ignorant in law. Folk-mediation have being liquidated when procedure have being uplifted. So, an aim of this article is to correct mistakes about folk-mediation, then to develop mechanism of folk-mediation for the sake of establishing a mechanism that has its own characteristic in China, which is the objective to consummate the ways to resolve dispute.This article is established in local level, by the way researching on dispute and the way of dispute of a country to get the first-hand date. Then, the date was analysed and the statistic was got. The method this article by is excavating the root of ADR and consulting theoretics comes from overseas. At last, the view to perfect ADR especially folk-mediation was advanced, they are: giving force adeffect to folk-mediation; further to perfect the rule apply to folk-mediation; extending the range of folk-mediation; strengthening kinds of systems of folk-mediation; building a bridge between folk-mediation and litigation; expediting legislation about folk-mediation etc.
