The AFL-CIO is the biggest trade union in America, and it is alsoone of the political interest groups. It's motif is to maintain the rightsof domestic workers by means of various concerned activities. Inrecent years, for the reason of both the AFL-CIO's inner political andadministration problems and the USA government's decrease infinance allotment to the union, plus the employers'change inmanaging ways and the oversea statrgies, AFL-CIO's membersdecrease d gradually and grow corruption behaviors and the fund isnot enough to launch more activities. However, AFL-CIO has beenchecking the weak points in its organization and management,and hasachieved its purposes by the chance of political election in Americaand these common measures which impact pressure on thegovernment's policy decision. Therefore, the fuction of AFL-CIOhas not yet abated,especially in economic and trading field. The threecases(international labor standards and trade, the tariff barrier andnon-tariff barrier to china in WTO, the problem of labor from Mexico)are symbolic of the influence from AIL-CIO to USA gvernement.Finally, the thesis analyzed how to avoid in maximum extent ofthe barrier set by the union.
