Objective:To study the current psychological characteristics of personality of juvenile offenders and analyze the related factors of juvenile delinquency and reveal the interrelationship between those factors. Methods:Using a case-control study , we have made all male juveniles of Fujian juvenile correctional facilities as case group and some male students of middle school as control group . Surveying both groups with Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and basic questionnaire. Applying logistic regression analysis to screen the risk factors of juvenile delinquency after a collection of information. Using the multiplicative model to estimate the interaction between those risk factors. Results:Getting 108 effective questionnaires of the case group and 146 of the control group . After a statistical analysis showed that scores on personality E(extraversion and introversion)N(neuroticism) and P(psychoticism) were significantly higher in the case group than those in the control group. Then ,after being analyzing by a single factor screening and a multivariate logistic regression, the significant factors which inter the model equation were : like watching bad video and novels(OR=12.635, 95%CI:2.682~59.532) , have fighting acts(OR=4.982, 95%CI:2.169~11.443), high scores on N(OR=4.410,95%CI: 1.874~10.377),bad teacher education ( OR=4.151, 95%CI:1.086~15.864), free time online( OR=3.993 ,95%CI:1.515~10.527), high scores on P( OR=3.026, 95% CI:1.259~7.277), bad family education (OR=2.635, 95% CI: 1.102~6.301), monthly household income( OR=2.119, 95% CI:1.418~3.166 ). There were interactions between the psychological characteristics of personality risk factors and all the environment risk factors. If those factors exist together, the risk of juvenile delinquency would be increased significantly. Conclusions:The extreme psychological characteristics of personality (high scores on N, high scores on P) and the bad impact of environment were mainly risk factors of juvenile delinquency. There were interactions of multiplicative model between those risk factors which greatly increased the risk of juvenile delinquency.
