In China, agricultural population occupies the overwhelming majority ,and the modernization of Chinese peasants has already been the focal point which the whole nation from the leadership to the masses paid attention to .Since the reform and opening-up, the traditional China countryside society has occurred profoundly change that the peasants start to move towards stratification from sole farmer to various social stratums. Economic restructuring reform and development of the rural area are the main reason impelling the stratification of traditional Chinese peasants. Now we are still a developing country with serious imbalance in regional development, especially general mid-west countryside area is the relative backwardness. Thus the present peasants' stratification also is at the initial stage. At present, there are many problems in the stratification of Chinese peasants, such as the non-sufficiency, the multiplication and the differentials among regions. Peasants' stratification is the essential request that Chinese peasants move towards modernization, and it is also a start-line where traditional peasants can make the change from as an identification to as profession. It is of great importance for us to correctly recognize the trends and consciously promote the change so as to accelerate the modernization of Chinese peasants .The profession of peasants is a universal choice for various countries which have achieved the modernization of agriculture, and it is also an important symbol of many developed countries where they have eliminated the gap between town and rural area. Now the main developed countries already have completed the process of the profession of peasants, and the developing countries in general also are being in the change of peasants from as an identification to as profession. In order to achieve peasants' modernization, the government must adjust economic developing strategies, and support economic development of the county area, so as to plan the urban and rural development as a whole. Simultaneously, we also should carry on the policy adjustment and the system innovation.
