With the entering into the 21st century, due to the rapid development of economic globalization and international trade, consumers have more chance to select more international goods and services. Moreover, because some legal rules protecting the rights of consumers such as China's Consumer Protection Law, are not consistent with WTO rules, it results in more and more problems of consumer rights and conflicts of international trade. So I think it is necessary to protect consumer rights and pay attention to the problem of the protection of consumer rights in the areas of legislation, judicature and enforcement. The aim of WTO is consistent with the goal of the protection of consumer rights, that is to improve human welfare and development. However, the uncontrolled development of trade liberalization and unduly interferance with trade practice by consumer rights protection laws make the conflict between them more serious. In order to insure international trade of our country to develop continuablly and healthily, to protect the rights of domestic consumers effectively, and to handle the disputes about consumers rights both at home and abroad correctly, this paper analizes the rules of protecting consumer rights in the current international trading system from the angle of consumer protection and the relation between consumer rights and international trade. The paper proposes the trend of coordinate the relation between consumer rights and international trade in the international dimension. And the paper also puts forward that we have achieved much progress in the protection of consumer rights in China and there are still something need to be perfectted.
