The U.K. is the typical system of representative democracy with the deep origins of the political parties, which have played a very important role in both domestic and foreign affairs in the United Kingdom. Tony Blair, as the British former Prime Minister and the leader on behalf of the Labor Party who had won three consecutive elections, his diplomatic thoughts have exerted considerable influence towards British foreign policy in the past 10 years when the Labor Party was in power, these diplomatic thoughts still have adequate research value. This paper consists of three parts: on the first part, the writer analyzes the background and influencing elements of emerging of Tony Blair's diplomatic thoughts from the international, European and domestic levels; on the second part, the writer expatiate the main context of Tony Blair'diplomatic thoughts——the"third way"of international relations, hub diplomacy, Blair internationalism; on the third part, the writer analyses the dilemma of Tony Blair'diplomatic thoughts through studying Iraq war; meanwhile the writer also analyses Brawn's policy adjustment towards Iraq and the development trend of his diplomatic policy.Tony Blair wants to construct the bridge between the Europe and the U.S in order to ensure Britain's dominant status in Europe through utilizing the so-called"special relationship"with the United States, and to exert the international influence on the world stage, which was superior to its real strength. But his diplomatic ideas seem to be faint under the different national interests and the strategic goals, and Britain's diplomatic goal, which was beyond its real strength, can't be realized finally.
