Striking social contradictions coexist with a trend in the variety of social disputes in China, which is now in her times of social transformation. None of unitary legal system in the world can be practiced in the settlement of all social disputes. It is essential that relevant systems be established and appreciative measures be taken, in view of the variety of the subjects, the rights in dispute, the levels of disputing antagonism and many other elements. Basing upon a classification for the social disputes and their respective legal attributions, the author makes an analysis on China's status quo of perfection in the ways to the settlement of civil and administrative disputes through non-lawsuit.An induction to the features and classification for the social disputes is made in the article, in which a point of view is expounded on differentiation between the civil disputes and the administrative disputes. An introduction on some other nations'status quo of non–lawsuit application, an induction on China's relevant status quo and an exposition on China's further perfection of non-lawsuit system are made thereupon.Through introducing the ways to the settlement of social disputes through non-lawsuit and their application status quo in some other nations, the article tries to give an eye opener and a reference for China's further perfection in the same ways. The author thinks it worthy of making a thorough investigation and study on the chosen theme.Through sorting out related reference materials about China's status quo of non-lawsuit application in the settlement of various disputes and summarizing the experiences and features in the application of the ways to the settlement of social disputes in China, the author points out some situations of imperfection on the application in the settlement of China's social disputes through non-lawsuit. At the conclusion, the author makes some constructive suggestions, which are established on the basis of analyzing China's relevant status quo and of putting some relevant theories and principles of law into practice. Although the opinions put forward in the articles only possibly show the author's superficial knowledge of law theory and initial experience of law practice, they are a summary of the author's years of hard studying.
