Research On Outsourcing Of Military Logistics

To meet the demand of the high-tech war, our armed force proposes the socialization of logistics. Military logistics outsourcing is an important means to achieve this. Presently, a few Third-party Logistics contractors have been introduced in some of our military logistics departments. But the lack of relevant theoretical research and field operation experiences leads to the small scale of military logistics outsourcing and unsuccessful fulfillment of expected goals.With the emerging thoughts on military logistics socialization and the rapid development of civil logistics technology, military logistics outsourcing becomes an inevitable trend. The People's Liberation Army should be equipped with some new concepts, such as modern logistics system, integrated logistics, market service and supply chain management, and the adjustment of military logistics system. The military logistics outsourcing boundary identification and contractor selection are two critical factors in the fundamental solution to the military logistics support issue. Meantime, the prevention of some risks is also considered essential. The exploration of military logistics outsourcing model fitting China's context should be consistently based on the principle that the protection of the interests of the army and the third-party contractor should go hand in hand with the implementation of logistics and the establishment of socialized logistic support concept.Based on the above mentioned,this study analysis on the outsourcing boundary and contractor selection and the prevention of some risks in economic terms,and it hopes to provide some theoretical guide and advices.
