Due to the establishment of ruling the nation by law, rule of law has become a logical choice for China. Law belief is essential to rule of law, the absence of which will hinder the process of legalization. And cultivating the public's law belief has become an urgent and arduous task for the socialist legal construction in our country.Legal belief is a rational grasp in law and the manner of government by law. And it is a true and absolute trust in law from the people's deep heart and they use law as the rules and regulations for one's behavior and maintain law dignity in their life. The object of law belief is the legal spirit behind the rules and regulations. And law belief has a long course for forming. Law belief is the inevitable need and the inner motivation for rule of law. It has been playing a significant role in the western legal society. Now, the cultivation of law belief is needed for the construction of legal system in our country. Cultivating our public's law belief is an important part of ideological and political education. It provides a kind of spirit assurance to the strengthening and improvement of Party's ruling ability at present, the construction of harmonious society and the construction of country under rule of law.Because of the historic and realistic reasons, there is not so wide and developed law belief in the common people in China as that in the western country. At present, law belief crisis has been one of the most serious hindrances for our legal construction process. This problem should be paid more attention to and some measures should be taken to resolve it.In order to cultivate law belief with Chinese characteristics, we should take excellent moral spirits in our traditional cultures as a base, emphasize the cultivation of law awareness and legal sense for common people, construct perfect legal system to ensure the realization of law value, at the same time, create a good environment for the public to cultivate law belief by developing socialist market economy and citizen society, democracy and spirit civilization.
