It is clear that researches on women become a focus these years. A number of related books and good dissertations have been published. Almost all of them do the researches with the whole wemen as an entirety. However, women are surely different from each other. They come from different classes, and they perform different roles in the social division of labour, and they make the different kind of contrbution to the society. Only understanding the different histories of women, and knowing the complicated society contact which is caused because of the different sex, then we can offer the researches on politics , economy and culture with the correct suggests or supplements, even the revisions.Besides《Song Shi》and《Xu Zi Zhi Tong Jian》, many other historical documents also have a lot of data of the consorts of the Song Dynasty, such as the corpus and the notes. Those data which are relating to the lives of the consorts are rich and really believable. They have great value of study on the lives and social activities of the consorts. So when we collect and process the data, we can never ignore those docunments. There is few papers that studies from one specific class or one concrete perspective. Moreover, because of the partial data, the researches are often localized and ex parte. It is not because people do not realize the value of those data, but the data are too dispersive to collect. So it become difficult for the scholars to make use of the data, and exert its function. We have not used the data completely at all. Therefore, I hope my thesis and the collation which I have done will attract others' attention, and make more people have regard for this study.This thesis want to not only study the political lives of the consorts of the Song Dynasty, but also study the system of the court, the state of the marriage and so on. On the other hand, through the study about the families of the consorts, I hope we can understand the society of the Song Dynasty from a new view.
