Since their independence, the five central Asian countries are in trouble such as the economic downturn, the complex ethnic relations, the three political forces, the transnational crime and the abundance of drug trafficking. For its unique geographical location and rich natural resources, the geostrategic importance of Central Asia has been highlighted again after 2001"9·11"incident. The involvement of Western countries at the excuse of"9·11"in central Asia region and their creation of color revolution all these are serious threats to stability and security of Central Asian region.China and Central Asia have more than three thousand kilometers of common border around which totally eight nations living in a mixed state. There is a long history of connection between Central Asia and China in aspects such as politic economy. So China plays an important role in maintaining stability and security of Central Asian region.Through induction of history, content analysis, documentary research and the comprehensive usage of qualitative and quantitative researches, this article gives an objective and comprehensive observation of the roles China played on maintaining the security of Central Asian Region and a realistic analysis and judgment according to its security situation of Central Asia. This article contains three chapters. In chapter one, it mainly analyzes the close geopolitical and economic ties between China and Central Asia and demonstrates the status and roles of Central Asia on China's security strategy on the basis of discussing the changing of china's strategy toward Central Asia. In chapter two, it focuses on the external and internal threats of Central Asia. Chapter three, on the basis of the previous two chapters, deduces that China plays a great role on remaining regional security in Central Asia, no matter politically or economically. Politically,China's importance is demonstrated by the political mechanism of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the establishment of good-neighboring and border security with Central Asia, the strengthening of military cooperation with Central Asia in combating three forces so as to maintain stability and security of the region. It also argues that it is a good chance to play importance on the development of good relationship between Central Asia and China at the time when China puts forward a new security concept. Economically, China's importance is mainly revealed by the continuation of various economical and trade cooperation, the promotion of new Silk Road and the strengthening of energy cooperation at the same time, with Central Asia, so as to help the recovery and the prosperity of its economy. The conclusion is that China should continue to strengthen multi-cooperation with Central Asia, not only to strengthen economical and political ties with Central Asia, but also to strengthen the mutual cultural tie and cultural exchange so as to strengthen the cultural impact of China on Central Asia's economic and political development, thus improve the image of China among Central Asian counties. The Conclusion is that China should continue to deepen relations with the Central Asia to develop strategies, develop relations with the Central Asia's overall goals, short-term goal, long-term goal, so that China plays a greater role in security issues in Central Asia.
