Discuss On Sun Yat-sen's Theory That Knowing Is More Difficult Than Doing

The views on knowing and doing is a very important proposition in the History of Chinese Philosophy. With the development of the philosophical theory, the discovery on questions of knowing and doing has experienced a historical developing process of gradually going to science. As a great revolutionary forerunner,Mr. SunYat-sen made the new illustration and demonstration about the relationship of knowing and doing according to his revolution experience and the time requirements,and then he put forward the viewpoint that knowing is more difficult than doing.This article briefly reviews the revolution experience and the life of Mr. SunYat-sen.Combinding with the evolvement and development of views on knowing and doing in Chinese history, it also talks about the historical background of researching the question. Secondly, this article describes the content,characteristics and contribution of the view which is put forward by Mr. SunYat-sen by the means of comparative study, class analysis and combination of macroscopy and microcosmos.Thirdly, the author finds out that the view of Mr. SunYat-sen has broke through the traditional concept of knowing and doing and endowed new meaning for it, so it is materialistic including obvious epistemological factors of dialectic materialism. It not only plays an important role in revolutionary practice of Mr. SunYat-sen,but also greatly affects the formation of Mr. Mao Zedong's dialectical materialist views on knowing and doing. Fourthly, this article analyses the localization of the viewpoint that knowing is more difficult than doing from different aspects.The author thinks it is the inevitable reflection of Mr. SunYat-sen's knowledge level and his time,so we can neither neglect nor cavil about it nowadays. At last,this article points out the Mr. SunYat-sen's concept that knowing is more difficult than doing has exerted a subtle influence on both Chinese New-democratic Revolution and Socialist Construction.Nowdays, promoting the pith of Mr. SunYat-sen's concept has great impact on deepening the philosophy research, enlightening the ideological and ethical construction and building the harmonious society.
