Explore China-ASEAN-Japan Relations Development From The Angle Of View Of Triangle

Objectively speaking that triangle of international relations is regular andspontaneous thing in the history of human society. Subjectively speaking, it is acountry's foreign strategy or strategies of a choice. Professor Jia Qingguo who worksin Peking University's Institute of International Relations considers that existence oftriangular structure should have three elements, namely: (1)the autonomy of nationaldecision-making,(2)the relativity of national interests, (3)the interaction of threegroup of bilateral relations in triangle.This is three conditions for the existence andfeatures for the performance too. This article according to Professor Jia's view,discussing China, ASEAN and Japan relations development. From end of the WorldWarâ…¡to before eruption of the Southeast Asia financial crisis, in their relationsdeveloping processes, successively presented the first two characteristics oftriangle.After the Southeast Asia financial crisis, China-ASEAN-Japan triangleconstruction formatted with the three important conditions having completely. In thisstage,the interactive characteristic of triangle prominently displayed the largepromotion which related in China and ASEAN impelled the development whichrelated in Japan and ASEAN,"politics cold and economy hot" of China and Japanrelations caused that ASEAN faced the opportunity and the challenge coexistingcomplexion. This article analysed the barrier factors which restrict the triangleinteracts benignly,mainly included the difficult position of China and Japan relations,ASEAN own limitation as well as US's negative effect and so on and how to breakthrough these barriers to propose own view. About the question of the triangletendency, the author thought that the triangle interaction will be long-standing. In along time of future ASEAN will still reside in dominant position in it. The structure ofrelation will transform to isosceles triangle from the present scalene trianglegradually.
