The system of punishment in the early Han dynasty was the foundation of Wen Jing reform on punishment. This system was composed of principal penalty system assist penalty system and banish penalty system, which is very important of domination in western han dynasty. The principle part of the system was composed of humiliatiom penalty and several kinds of corporal punishment and death penalty. Generally, the corporal punishment was not applied singly, but with penal servitude. Therefore, it established a gradational entia of punishment, from lesser punishment to heavier punishment, from living to death. Negligent offender, special offender and minor offender is punished with fine or ransom. To offenders, their identity was manage strictly,to nobles,they had the right to lighten their punishment,in this way,there enformed a perfect system of punishment in the early Han dynasty.in history,there were 60 codes in the early Han dynasty,but all losed.now,we can learn the law article in Han bamboo slip in Zhang Jia-shan ,and this article writes in four part to discuss the the system of punishment in the early Han dynasty and hope to do something for the research of the system of punishment in the early Han dynasty...
