Along with Hongkong and Macao returning to China smoothly in 1997 and 1999, it's very certain that resolution of Taiwan issues has been put on the agenda. In recent years, the rampant activities of the advocators of Taiwan's independence have made it esp. urgentto resolve Taiwan problem. However, what do Taiwan issues mean and what's the key point to resolve Taiwan issues? How important will it be if Taiwan problem can be smoothly resolved?... So many problems are asked by the Chinese people who care about the reunion of strait and attract many scholars to do some research.Based on the overall collection and study on the research achievements on Taiwan issues home and abroad in international law, this research, containing seven chapters, analyzes Taiwan issues in detail.First, it demonstrates international and domestic backgrounds of Taiwan issues as well as its recent developments; then from the angle of national territorial changes, self-determination of peoples and whether Taiwan has membership of international organizations , proves that Taiwan belongs to China from time immemorial, which is an integral part of Chinese territory, criticizes the illegal activities of referendum of Taiwan's independence and defines whether Taiwan has the membership of international organizations. Last, based on the predecessors' research and combined with so many years' efforts our government has made towards Taiwan issues, the research puts forward a probe to resolve Taiwan issues.Using principles of international law, from angles of history, reality and legal principles and combined with case study of international law, this research analyzes Taiwan issues beneficially,thoroughly and deeply esp. analyzes its most illegal symptom, as well as the key point to resolve it. This research, which is based on the previous research achievements, carrying forward the cause and forge ahead into the future, is also expected to add to the research power in the research domain of Taiwan issues and offer some valuable references to the solution to it.
