After the"911"event, the academic research relating crisis management has become a hot spot in domestic and foreign countries, it also has caused the attention of international society and various countries. By researching the public crisis, we can find the problems and deficiencies during the government public crisis management, give comments for improvement, and it is also the goal of public crisis management research.Although it is impossible to avoid crises, it could be prevented, controlled and resolved. Reduce the occurrence of public crisis's, and minimize the damage as much as possible brought about by the public crisis, is the responsibility and the duty of each government. After "SARS", although China's ability to deal with public crises has improved and made some progress, we have not established an effective and systematic crises management system yet. There are still many problems during dealing with public crises. Therefore, we should summarize the experience and lessons from the public crisis management, and learn the mature practice to deal with the public crisis from developed countries, and improve our public crisis management mechanism continuously.The paper can be divided into five parts: the first part is about the introduction of crisis, public crisis and public crisis management, and so on. The second part refers to our country's public crisis management by studying the Wenchuan earthquake as an example. The third part is the focus of the paper. It analyses the progress China has made and problems existing in public crisis management. The fourth part puts forward the proposal to our country public crisis management according to the existing problems. The last part is the conclusions of this paper.
