The China-Japan relation is one of the most important bilateral relations for China, which makes the research in this relation significant as well. Since the end of Cold War, the researches in the relationship between China and Japan have achieved great development in mainland China, and it is of vital academic value and practical significance to sum up and examine the history and status-quo of the subject from an academic respect. This article aims at the statistics and classification of literature on that subject such as articles in CNKI, monographs, book reviews and dissertations for doctor degree to study the number, themes and content of them reflecting the general state of the researches in the China-Japan relation nowadays. It also holds that researches in this field are of characteristics of social, political policy serving as well as coexistence of concentra and diversity on the visual angles and methods, with some defects such as concentra of themes and views, policy oriented, short of methodology, irrational cognitive mode, scarcity of critics as well as debate, lack of academic problem sense. The author tries giving an abstract explanation for those distinguish features in that discipline in the academic vision of intellectual sociology. Thus, a leap-forward development in this field of research can be earned only if the crux of those drawbacks be reckoned and dealt with appropriately.To complete the task of literature study by sample statistics and text analysis, numbers of literatures are collected from various data bases. Those samples are all listed in the end of this dissertation.
