Objective: To get a general idea about the actual level of mental health and life among Migration in Three Gorges Reservoir Area and analyze the related factors. To study the relationship between social support, coping style, life events and mental health among migration in Three Gorges Reservoir Area, and to provide scientific basis for the government and immigration counseling.Methods: Using group stratified random sampling, we select 230 immigrants and 230 local adults in WeiFang; Surveyed by Psychosocial Stress Survey for Groups, Symptom Checklist 90, Social Support Rating Scale and basic status table of resident, then input all original data into computer analysis by SPSS11.5.Results: The mental health level of the Three Gorges immigrants was much lower than the control. The Three Gorges immigrants felt sad and disappointment, especially had much more the feelings of depression than the control. Besides hostility, horror and crankiness, all factor scores of SCL-90 in the immigrants group were higher than that of local residents group(P<0.001). Migration in Three Gorges Reservoir Area had poorer social support than the control(P<0.0001) , The score of life events, negative emotion and negative coping was also higher than that of local residents group(P<0.0001), but the score of positive emotion and positive coping was lower than that of local residents group(P<0.05). Migration in Three Gorges Reservoir Area found that their quality of living was declining.The factors that impact the mental health of the Three Gorges immigrants include sex, age, marital status, educational level, occupation, economics, medical ensure, temperament, the status of health, the relationship between government and immigrants, psychosocial stress, and social support, etc. In these factors, age, the status of health, the relationship between government and immigrants, and social support have the most impact on the mental health of immigrants.Conclusion: The Three Gorges immigrants have the serious mental health problems. The factors that impact the mental health of the Three Gorges immigrants include sex, age, occupation, economics, culture, the relationship between government and immigrants, and social support, etc. The relationship between government and immigrants is a important factor of immigrants' mental health, and we tabled a same proposal before investigation. So our government should attach importance to not only immigrants' production but also their mental health when they allocate immigrants. Moreover, this problem should be regarded by all of people and taken related measures by the government.
