An Investigation On The System Of Consumable Democracy

Democracy does not happen naturally but comes into existence as the result of people's practice in the course of history. It is established according to social needs. As a polity, democracy must serve the civilians' self-government within the political community. Based on this, the present thesis takes as the basic point "Democracy boasts some quality of public products and is consumable." It starts out with the construction of the system of consumable democracy, elaborates on democracy from the perspective of public products, points out that democracy is consumable and system is the carrier of consumable democracy, and further demonstrates that systematization is the key to democracy being consumable.The whole thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter one is the introduction part, which gives a list of the background and reason for the topic choice, makes a brief review of the current situation of the theme and explains the research methodology and writing guidance of the thesis. Chapter two retrospects on the origin of democracy, defines democracy from the angle of polity, indicates that democracy is a polity created which has the quality of public products and thus is consumable. However, the key to the consumption of democracy lies in the establishment of system. Chapter three begins with the direct democracy model and the indirect democracy model, analyzes their corresponding social basis. Only that way can confusability of democracy, i.e. intimacy and peace, be met. Chapter four follows the previous paragraphs and illustrates the carrier of the consumable democracy, that is, the construction of system of democracy.
