| The ideals of scientific development is the essence of the spirit of the 17th congress, which has drawn on all the advance of human civilization and is a brand new development model adapting to the trend of the current world. The ideals of scientific development are rich and profound in content and have been widely used. Therefore, it is of guiding significance to grasp its scientific connotation correctly and to make clear its intrinsic logic in its basic ideals of development for people in various fields to implement fully these ideals. In this paper, the author takes as her starting point that men are the means as well as the aim of social development, follows the logic as of development-----the overall, coordinated and sustainable development-people-oriented development, and elaborates the logical relation between the overall, coordinated arid sustainable development and people-oriented development, i.e. the overall, coordinated and sustainable development of economy and society is the basis of men's free and overall development, and men's free and overall development is the ultimate goal of the overall, coordinated and sustainable development of economy and society. In addition, considering all aspects is also included in ideals of scientific development and is the fundamental way to realize the free and overall development of men.The foremost point of the ideals of scientific development is development, which take the overall, coordinated and sustainable development as the basic requirements and people orientation as the core. These three aspects are interconnected, whose nature aims at men's free and overall development through the fast and healthy development of the society and economy. The ideals of scientific development lift men's development up to its core and for the first time, the intended meaning in Marxist historical materialism is highlighted. Men, in this case, are different from people in the thought of people as the national basis and from human in humanism; men here are based on the concept of the men in reality, referring to people in the widest sense and including each and every individual. Therefore, the ideals of scientific development are the foremost issue in administering the nation, which require us to hold on to the center of economic development, liberate and improve the productivity. Only in this way can we provide material basis for men's free and overall development. In the ideals of scientific development, the wise decision of the overall, coordinated and sustainable development is put forward, pointing out the correct way to develop productivity. Among which, it is the application and revelation of Marxist thought on system and wholeness to deal with the relation between economic development and the overall development of society in a scientific way. The overall, coordinated and sustainable development is a concept with closely connected parts, which integrate the economic and social development, cope with the issues concerning development with key points and balanced development and take into account development in both the short and long run as well as with men's development as their common goal. It is safe to say that the aim of development is not limited to material growth and is men's free and overall growth.Men live in a society and a society consists of men. Without social development, there, would be no men's growth; without men's development as its goal, the society would lose its aim of development. People-orientation inherits and develops the Marxist theory of social-historical subject, pointing out that men's free and overall development is the ultimate goal of social development. In this way, the author integrates the overall, coordinated and sustainable development and men's free and overall development and establishes a complete system of ideals of scientific development. Only by sticking to taking into account all factors can we achieve overall, coordinated and sustainable development and put into practice the people-oriented developmental ideal.
