On Historical Status And Practical Value Of The Concept Of Scientific Development

Based on the global and historical perspective, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Hu Jintao as the General Secretary creatively proposed the concept of scientific development which insisted on human-oriented, comprehensive, harmonious and sustainable development from the height of associating the development of China and the world, as well as combining the fundamental interests of Chinese people with common interests of the world people. The concept of scientific development is the outcome of combining Marxist principles with time characteristics and Chinese concrete reality, the concentrated reflection of making Marxism contemporary, and the latest theoretical achievement of Chinese Marxism. This paper demonstrates historical status and practical value of the concept of scientific development from multiple angle and dimensionality of scientific socialism theory and practice. Firstly, form the process of Chinese Marxism, the concept of scientific development combining Marxist principles with stage characteristics of domestic social and economic development in the new century and new stage, is the latest theoretical achievement of Chinese Marxism, which further deepened the understanding of the laws of socialist construction, and opened up a new realm of Chinese Marxism. Secondly, from the process of making Marxism contemporary, the concept of scientific development closely combining Marxist principles with time characteristics at present, is the concentrated reflection of making Marxism contemporary, which revealed profoundly a series of all-around and fundamental issues of time in the world development, and opened up new field of making Marxism contemporary. Thirdly, from the view of the history of human social development, the concept of scientific development which closely combined the theory of Marxist development with the time trend of peace and development and practical demands of every country in the world, further deepened the understanding of law of human social development, represented the orientation of the development of world advanced culture. Finally, from the view of practical value of the concept of scientific development, the concept of scientific development which combined fundamental principles of scientific socialism with concrete practice of socialism with Chinese characteristic and actual requirement of building harmonious socialist society, established scientific socialism above the solid realistic foundation, opened up a new stage of practical development of scientific socialism, clearly showed the rosy prospect of future development of socialism with Chinese characteristic.
