The essay is an action research report on aiming at introducing an efficient English teaching method to junior school vocabulary teaching.Based on the research and analysis of various vocabulary teaching methods and their common problems, we proposed the Context Teaching Method (also called Word-Sentence-Teaching method) which enables junior school students to understand the meaning and master the usage of vocabulary by learning vocabulary through context creating. By following scientific classroom cognizing rules,applying vocabulary learning strategies and theories of context-oriented teaching, we can mobilize students' initiatives and self-motivations to a larger extend, thereby, changing their perceptual knowledge to rational knowledge.We hold that vocabularies should be learnt through context instead of through mechanical memory. Meanwhile, our suggested method can help develop students'listening, speaking, reading and writing, etc. Though it's time-consuming, through accumulation,students'interest will be aroused, and students'memory, thoughts, imagination and creativity will be also developed, which can urge them to find the most appropriate way to make preparation for their life-long study. Therefore, based on the vocabulary teaching rules and present situations, Context Teaching Method is worthy studying and carrying out.
