| The form in which chemical knowledge is stored or manifested in the brain is referred to as the mental representation of chemical knowledge. Mental representation is the focal point of psychological research. Regardless of the type of chemical knowledge, the students' existing knowledge and life experience play a vital role in their studies. Through years of research, cognitive psychologists have classified knowledge as declarative knowledge and procedural knowledge. Declarative knowledge primarily comes in the form of concepts, proposition networks, signs, and diagrams, while procedural knowledge main comes in the form of production of production systems. Acquisition of procedural knowledge takes place through three stages:the cognitive stage, the linkage stage, and the automation stage. The purpose of studying the metal representation of chemical knowledge in high school is to:(1) explore how to build an effective psychological model when the pre-designed teaching conflicts with the actual production in classroom in order to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching; (2) explore how to conduct chemical experiments, animated demonstrations, and model applications in order to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching; (3) explore how to use question setup to identify students'latest development zone in order to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching; and (4) explore to how build the most suitable form of exercise for students who have done an enormous amount of homework but still failed to obtain a satisfactory score at the National College Entrance Examinations, in order to help the students acquire core chemical knowledge and improve the effectiveness of their review studies. Chemistry is a science that emphasizes experimentation and thinking, and one of its top priorities is to develop students'thinking power. As chemistry teachers, we have to understand the psychological thinking characteristics the chemical knowledge for our students in order to nurture their thinking power in a more effective way and to apply the scientific viewpoints to chemistry teaching. This will significantly improve the results of chemical teaching. |
