How to conduct the grammar teaching in senior high school is an issue always being discussed, recently, the most heated discussion about grammar instruction is whether to use explicit instruction or implicit instruction. Which can help master the English grammar?"New Standard"emphasizes the use of the language, to lay importance on students'practice awareness, it can not be restricted with itself, however , it should be connected with logical thinking, language awareness, context, subject matter and types of literature, vocabulary and culture. The purpose of grammar instruction today is to achieve or present some functions, to accomplish some expression of topics. This thesis briefly introduced explicit and implicit instruction and its related theories in order to probe how to make better use of the explicit and implicit instruction in grammar teaching and learning.This thesis consists of five parts:Chapter One gives a brief introduction to the study and the background of the study. It also elaborates upon the significance of the study and provides an organization of this paper.Chapter Two presents the related literature view, concerning studies on previous research into explicit and implicit grammar instructionChapter Three focuses on the research methodology adopted in the study of the explicit and implicit grammar instruction in senior high school.Chapter Four is devoted to the research design, describing in detail the procedure of the research and the analysis of the data both quantitatively and qualitatively and it also explores the results of the study.Chapter Five mainly consists of some concluding remarks about the study, deals with implications for explicit and implicit grammar instruction and limitations to the research and offers suggestions for future research.
