With the gradual popularization and development, Internet, as a new media, has already permeated every aspect of social life and changed people's living ways. Not only has Internet brought wide-ranging and deep-going impacts on high school students'life, study and ideas, but also complicated impacts on ideological and political education from both positive and negative sides. Accordingly, it is significant to fully analyze these impacts and to make good use of advantages and avoid disadvantages of the Internet's impacts on high school ideological and political education. Moreover, how to promote ideological and political education better under the Internet's circumstances, how to regulate high school students'Internet behaviors, and how to establish correct views of the world, life and value are a critical and confronting issue in high school ideological and political education.This article has been divided into four parts:The first part is about the opportunities that Internet has brought to high school ideological and political education. It discusses high school students'attitudes and their current situation and reasons for surfing the Internet. Furthermore, it analyzes the positive impacts of Internet on high school ideological and political education, which would provide plentiful contents and renewed methods and then improve the subjectivity and effectiveness of high school education.Second, challenges would be brought by Internet to high school ideological and political education. From the educators'perspective, Internet creates a new requirement which makes teaching environment more complicated. On the other hand from the educational target's perspective, Internet may produce health hazard to students'personality and psychology, which would bring about challenges to their socialization and quality education. The third part is about the new characteristics of ideological and political education in Internet environment. These new characteristics are shown in educational objectives and contents, educators and educational targets, and the relationship between educators and educational targets.The last part discusses some solutions in enhancing high school ideological and political education under the Internet circumstances. This author presents these solutions from different aspects. They stress need of more attention and efforts from schools, teacher, families and society to effectively reduce the adverse effects of Internet on high school students, to increase their ideological and political quality, to help them build right views of world, life and value, and thus to make them become outstanding successors of our harmonious society.
