With the development of higher education, the instructors working in the front of student work play a more and more important role in the higher education and cause the extensive concern of whole society. The current status and problems of the team of instructors make the team unstable and have impacted on the effect of daily education and management. Under such circumstances, the establishment of team of instructors is a priority.This article is a study of the professionalization of College Instructors. It focuses on the study of the instructors in the newly-built universities and colleges, which are not noticed and facing the challenges and reforms from the readjustments in its position for a school, administration system and the teaching body. Therefore, this study is made on the team of instructors of X University in Shanghai with the literature research and survey research. Through the questionnaires on instructors and individual interviews with teachers and students about the status of the instructors, that is their working, their status, selecting, appointing, training, payment and promotion. There are five main problems in my conclusion——tough tasks with low efficiency, low expertise level, incomplete and imperfect system of management, a vague personal development and lack of professional recognition.The research is further focused on the current status and problems of instructors, and digs out the exact reasons and specific conditions behind X University in order to find the current situation and problems of instructors. There are several reasons leading to the problems, such as administration system, incomplete regulations, incompetent people, no plans and standards for training, vague direction of profession qualifications, narrow development space, and unfavorable environment for vocational development. Therefore, the establishment of the instructors of X University has to be professionalized, which is a priority to build the team. Based on a comprehensive view of the general situation, the uniform teaching profession standards and the tentative system of profession qualifications are put forward as a mark for the professionalization of College Instructors. Moreover, the colleges will assist the instructors to position their professional emphasis, offer scientific training solutions, rebuild the administration systems such as assessment system, cultivate the professional spirit of the instructors, and form a professional organization of instructors in order to develop the professionalization.
