The concern on individual and society,is always one of the core issues of social science.As a component of the most basic elements of human society,individual's life is always subject to social environment.Because of the space and time of human life,the close relationship between individual and society applies to every group,or even each individual.Minban-teachers was a special group who emerged in a special period of China,although this group has withdrawn from the stage of history,there are still many teachers who change from farmers to public.They used to be Minban-teachers,but are still active in the field of basic education.They have rich and special experience,but there is little acdemic attention to the relationship between their personal experience and social structure.What important events did they experience? How did these major events imply the changes in system or structure?And what roles did the events play in these teachers' lives and fate?How did the nationl power make significant impact on individual's life?Facing the dramatic social changes,how did they feel,treat and participated in?How to realize their initiative?Based on the research of a group of elementary school teachers who change from farmers to public,the study described the impact of social structure on individual,particularly the social system,state power,market mechanism and other aspects' influence. Specificlly,the study found answers to the following questions:First,how did the group of "teachers who change from farmers to public" form?What are the factors?Second,what is the relationship among the production,status of this group and education system,state power and market mechanism?To solve the above problems,the study is divided into six parts.Chapter 1 proposes questions consciousness,review both the theoretical and emprical research and defines the core concepts.Chapter 2 introduces the background and characteristics of the study.Chaper 3 based on the narrative of major events the teachers experienced during different stages of life,explains the social structure's impact on the turning point of personal life and that individual initiative also plays an important role.Chapter 4 analyzes objective factors and has found that state system and power,penetration of market economy,culture and customs are the main force.Chapter 5 based on the analysis of the teachers' response to major events,and concludes that they use positioning and role adjustment,intergenerational impact and daily resistance as their main adaptation strategies.Chapter 6 summary and reflection,recalls the important life experiences of these teachers,found that movement and development of individuals is restricted by social system,and personal roles change with the changes of the society.
