Ability is not only a psychological research subject, but also a maths education research one. Under the situation of quality education, it抯 important to research on ability and how to promte the middle school student抯 abilities. The writer first puts forward a point of view that the inference ability of mathematics is integral part of nntheniatical ability, then makes a discussion about the inference coiim~nly employed in the mathematics of the middle school students, the ability structure of mathematical inference of the middle school students, and the factors which influenced the formality and develoiinent of inference ability of the middle school students. The writer has also launched an experimental research in the training of mathematical inference ability of the middle school students. The maths ability of the students is a personality psychological character which makes students grasp the maths knowledge, skill and maths thoughts quickly and deeply in their maths activities. The maths inference ability of the students refers that by which the students can apply to logical methods analyze, infer and argue according to the logical laws during their maths activities, Gaining the maths knowledge and skill and grasping the maths ways must rely on inference. Inference lies in all maths activities. Therefore, maths inference ability is essence in maths ability, Inference is a thought way by which one can make a new judge from one or some known. According to the credibility of the conclusion of maths inference, it can be divided into argument and plausible reasoning. To pronnte the maths inference ability of the middle school students, We must be aware of the following six aspects: that is, the ability to suuir~rize the maths materials quickly and properly; the ability to III \tY~Rc TW-QT~Z shorten the inference process and think directly; the exchanging ability of inference ways; the ability of meta?cognition of inference process and result; the ability of remembering maths materials of inference process. There are factors that affect the inference ability of the middle school students. It is important to the training of maths inference ability to analyze and study these factors. This paper deals with the following in detail: the qualities of genetic and physiological factors, the need of maths activities and motive factors, the preparation of maths knowledge and skills: On base of that, this paper puts forward a route to train the maths inference abilities of the middle school students by experiment. First, we must pay more attention to operative training the student抯 body position and the students interest in study. Secondly, in teaching, we also must deal carefully with the essential concepts and stills, the ways to infer and the maths thought methods so that the students can form a new cognitive structure, Finally, The perfect personalities of the students must be trained. The writer also brings forward that experimental result need further research, by experimenting, surimarizing, again experimenting and summarizing. It will make the route of the training of mathematical inference ability of the middle school students more efficient and scientific.
