China is a big agricultural country with a vast territory and a big variety of nationalities. The amount of farmers accounts for 80% of the population. Since the physical quality of farmers is linked with the quality of the whole nation, it is very crucial and essential to develop rural physical education. Rural P. E. should start with school education. School P. E. is basic of the national P. E., as well as strategy key to develop national P. E. cause, undertaking the important task of improving students' P. E. quality, which plays a vital role in quality-oriented education. Therefore, it is great significance to achieve the targets on making a good job of P. E. teaching in rural schools, which make students obtain basic P. E. theories, grasping proper P. E. skills, learning scientific methods of body-building, keeping lifelong habit of physical training, so as to promote students' growth, further health, strengthen constitution, develop physical quality and raise basic action capability.Based on lots of documents and data and investigating analysis of current situation of p. e. sites and equipments resources in rural primary schools of Wansheng District, Chongqing, this thesis sets forth current situation and problems of P. E. teaching resources in Chinese rural primary schools, including shortage of teachers, P. E. class and unplanned P. E. courses; serious lack of funds, sites and equipment not meeting the requirement of P. E. teaching; unsuitable textbooks, insufficient utility of present resources, single teaching contents and students' weak constitution, etc. The major reason caused such problems is that social and schoolleaders as well as teachers don't pay enough attention to school P. E., and are deficient in scientific guidance as a result of local economy development. According to this, it puts forward the corresponding strategy. One is to change educational views, focusing on the final aim of school P. E. that is to cultivate students' general capacity of P. E. culture, to keep ideology, manner, and habit of lifelong P. E. training. The second is to develop p. e. sites and equipments resources in rural primary schools through one equipment with various usages, self-made P. E. instruments, transforming traditional P. E. instruments, making use of geography resources and renting P. E. instruments. Another is to innovate traditional teaching contents, such as carrying out national and folk P. E. activities, reforming complicate events and putting games into the textbooks.
