PE teaching is the important measures and approaches of training the persons of ability in the new century. With the Information Time and Knowledge Economy Time's coming, the PE teaching are changing greatly with the developing of the time. Especially, the application of the New Course Standard provided an opportunity for the reformation of PE teaching. Still, the present PE teaching is in the critical period of turning from the Exam Education to the Skill Education. During this process, there exists many problems.This paper adopted many kinds of study methods, such as questionnaires, material analysis, interviews and survey on line. The author made a survey for 610 students and 300 teachers of 58 high schools and interviewed with many experts in order to analyze and study the problems lying in the PE teaching. According to the results of the survey, the author draw the conclusions and came up with a lot of practical suggestions.The results of this research reveal that in these 58 high schools, the managements of the schools for the RE. teaching are not perfect; the numbers of the RE. classes is not enough; the gyms are too less; many schools are short of facilities of sports; the outlay of the PE is much less than the normal target; the salary of the PE teachers is low; most students are interested in the PE course but they are unaware of the basic knowledge and common sense of sports. In one word, the real situation of the whole and the individuals in PE class is not optimistic. All of them are not good for the high school PE teaching, so the related departments should pay more attention to this problem.
