At present in the process of city-country integration a special teachers-group exists in parts of Chinese Midwest regions. They are temporary teachers and meanwhile a especial and inevitable outcome in the background of the Chinese city-country. Being the valid complement of official teachers for the village primary and secondary schools, they meet the need and stability of the village students' schooling. But according to the request of teacher's qualifications in China, temporary teachers still have many aspects to be improved. Therefore, reasonably adjusting and assigning the village teacher's resources is the initial and basic work in the improvement of Midwest country educational condition."Temporary teachers" refers to the unofficial teachers who had been appearing before the end of 1986 in village primary and secondary schools. They are a new teachers-group with certain limits by governments. It includes all those unofficial teachers who are not temporary but on long-term work. The phrase "taking over a class for an absent teacher" has already lost its original meaning, but become a kind of settled work .This research is trying to discover the educational secret worry of temporary teachers' present conditions and country education through their work and life in Jingyuan County Gansu Province. Thus this inquiry into temporary teachers' problems hopes to give education administration section, school strategies and suggestions.On the basis of theories of Pedagogy, Sociology, Educational Management, we're adopting questionnaire investigation, individual interview and other various methods, taking teachers' structures of Jingyuan County as an example, to show all sorts of contradictions and questions about their living conditional aspects.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first part is a general introduction. The main contents are the origin, purpose and meaning, the research overview, research objects, the research methods and processes of the research.The second part concerns retained-teacher's work, the life clairvoyance. From the investigation and the interview, it describes their present characteristics, and realistic circumstances.The third part analyzes the origin about retained-teacher of Jingyuan County. In addition to common reason, it has its local characteristics. They relate to poor natural environment, level of economy, schooling tradition, special schooling forms and teachers' establishment system.The fourth part put forward the strategies and suggestions. First, the education administration must establish right management idea; Secondly more humanistic concern should be given to temporary teachers; Thirdly, the policy of the village economy must be increased; Fourthly, the system-innovation must be emphasized with the speeded primary and secondary school personnel system reform; Fifthly, middling normal education must be enhanced and the cultivation and training system of village teachers must be reformed.
